Our poshest botanical tipple takes its roots from Joseph Myatt who is given the credit of popularising rhubarb on the British Isles, Myatt was a nurseryman who on an early spring morning in 1808 set out five bundles of rhubarb for sale at the fruit and veg market in Covent Garden. The rest as they say is history.
