Our poshest botanical tipple takes its roots from Joseph Myatt who is given the credit of popularising rhubarb on the British Isles, Myatt was a nurseryman who on an early spring morning in 1808 set out five bundles of rhubarb for sale at the fruit and veg market in Covent Garden.
